About

Brynne Swearingen is…

an up and coming fashion designer attending the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Brynne’s love of fashion started at a young age when she began sketching the elegant gowns that she saw in princess movies. She continued to illustrate women’s clothing throughout her school years. Brynne developed a deep interest in the fashion industry and its culture, entering college knowing she wanted to pursue a career in fashion.

Brynne admires designers such as Saint Laurent, Amiri, and Zimmermann for their strong intersection of femininity and edge, which is apparent in her own designs as she combines fabrics like silk charmeuse and leather with classical moto jacket silhouettes and slip dresses. Brynne focuses on the woman’s body in her designs and strives to make the women she dresses feel confident and energetic. She is inspired by the natural colors of the environments and activities she loves, such as driving along PCH and watching sunsets with her loved ones. Brynne draws energy from daily, interpersonal interactions she has with peers and strangers. These interactions activate her creativity, animating her spirit and design process with a vibrant passion.

Brynne’s upcoming senior collection features silky fabrics that mimic the warmth from the sun, as well as a lambskin leather and denim. In each look, she has initiated the intersection of textures between the contrasting fabrics and added graphics that allow the viewer to experience a glimpse into one of her favorite views.
